What motivated you to start your blog?
I have always had a tremendous love for fashion and was thrilled to discover other fashion blogs, which inspired me to start my own. I love the idea of daily outfit inspiration and connecting with other girls who are as excited about fashion as I am.

How does the city you live in inspire your day-to-day fashion?
San Francisco is a constant inspiration with its ever changing neighborhoods, food and street style. Everywhere you look from the heavily graffiti’d walls in the Haight to amazing little shops in Hayes Valley, the inspiration is just endless.

Who are your style icons?
There are so many women whose style I admire. The ones who stand out the most are the ones who are not afraid to take a risk with their style. From Carrie Washington and Sarah Jessica Parker (and of course Carrie herself!) to Victoria Beckham, and Daphne Guinness. I often fantasize about the endless fashion options these ladies have and how I would style the pieces I see on them.

Name one piece every woman should have in her wardrobe and why?
I think a great, well made coat goes a very long way. A crisp white or black, that complements any outfit you have under it, can give your overall look a very polished finish. And it is a piece you can invest in and wear for years to come.

What items do you always carry in your handbag?
I can’t live without having multiple EOS lip balms rolling around in my bag, as well as a great lip gloss. I am also addicted to using cuticle oil multiple times a day. It’s like Chap Stick – once you start, you can’t stop. And it’s amazing what a refreshing look a little dab will give to your manicure. On the more practical side, I always have a notebook (the cover of mine says “Brilliant Ideas”) in my bag, to jot down ideas for my blog, write down little inspirations and my never ending crafting to do lists.

What is the best beauty trick you’ve ever learned?
Never use a brow pencil, always a brush. It will give a much softer, more natural look and you’ll never run the risk of having those scary looking drawn on sharpie brows. A make-up artist told me this a very long time ago and it totally changed my beauty routine.

Tell us…what is something not many people know about you?
My close friends know this all too well, but not so much my readers. I am a huge Bravo reality show junkie and could win any Housewives trivia game with my eyes closed. It is such a guilty pleasure and one I wouldn’t give up for anything!

What are your favourite prints or colors to mix? Do you have any tips?
I am a self diagnosed monochromatic junky, so I often dress head to toe in shades of grey, light blue, or navy. Lately though, I have been venturing out of my mono bubble and going for really bright prints, careful not to overdo it. My rule is, “Have one ‘stand out’ piece, whether it’s a skirt, top or a statement necklace, and let that be the anchor of the look” It’s so easy to overdo it with prints or loud colors. Less is always more in my book.

When you need a little pick-me-up, how do you add sparkle to your life and feel good?
I love making my home look beautiful, and when I want to feel new and fresh I head to the San Francisco flower mart, grab some blooms and make three or four arrangements to put all over the house. It’s amazing what fresh flowers will do to brighten up your day and make you feel great. It helps that I have a huge love for flower arranging, so it’s a great stress reliever activity as well.

How do you start your day? Do you have a morning routine?
It’s funny how your morning routine changes after you have a baby. Mine used to be, grabbing a leisurely coffee, taking a long shower and then sitting down in front of my vanity to do a full on hair and make –up look every single day. Now, from 6am to 7am I run around like a maniac getting a 2-year-old to want to put on her clothes, have breakfast, and not hug the dogs too hard. Then after she is off to pre school, sitting down at the vanity, taking a deep breath and trying to figure out if I washed my hair yesterday. This is where having date nights and blog shoots make you feel like you can still glam it up and show off your fab side. Whether or not your daughter stole all of your lipsticks and hid them in her crayon box.
